Now in its ninth year, BOWLZILLA Gold Coast was established as the first all-encompassing National Park Skating competition in Australia. The annual skating festivities, 21-24 February 2024, include learn-to-ride clinics, art shows, workshops, music, and parties and is rounded out with a skate competition on the 24th February.

Hosted at Elanora Skatepark, boasting an eight-foot bowl with metal coping on one side through the pipe to a twelve-foot vert on the other, this park is a must on any skaters travel agenda as one of the most famous bowls in the country.

Gold Coast Film Festival

Major Events Gold Coast is proud to be supporting the 22nd year of the Gold Coast Film Festival featuring over 100 films, panels, parties, pop-up cinemas and special events across the Gold Coast from Coolangatta to Coomera.

The annual 12-day film festival will return in April April 2024, bringing film to life in a distinctly Gold Coast way for local and visiting audiences and to help grow and support Queensland’s screen industry.


Gold Coast Swim Week & Cooly Classic Ocean Swim

Gold Coast Swim Week is a week-long celebration of swimming  21-28 April 2024 with ocean swims and leading coaches and special guests hosting clinics and training sessions along Gold Coast beaches and pools.

The annual Cooly Classic Ocean Swim will open the program on April 21.  This is the Gold Coast’s largest ocean swimming event, with swims from 1.0km to 5.0km starting at Snapper Rocks.

Gold Coast Pro

The 2024 Gold Coast Pro presented by GWM will be held 27 April – 4 May at Snapper Rocks, the world’s most famous right-hand sandy point break and a favourite location for the globe’s best surfers.

With a great vantage point to watch the world’s top surfers go head to head, the seven-day competition will be held in the high-quality surf month of May with the Gold Coast Pro kicking off the 2024 WSL Challenger Series in Australia. Surfers will battle it out for a qualifying position on the 2024 WSL Championship Tour.

BLEACH* is one of the finest showcases of art and community in South East Queensland; a chance to discover creative works by local artists that span painting, poetry, dance, music, comedy and so much more.

2024 World Lifesaving Championships

All Beach and Ocean Events at the 2024 Lifesaving World Championships will be held at Kurrawa Beach, in the heart of the world famous Gold Coast, with competitors racing in some of the best waves in Australia.

Competitors and spectators alike will have the opportunity to sit back and relax after a day of action, with Kurrawa Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs and bars and restaurants close by offering incredible food and beverage options.

SWELL Sculpture Fesitval

This beloved outdoor arts festival will once more present over 70 words by Australian and international artists along the iconic stretch of Currumbin Beach. With well over 100,000 visitors expected, SWELL Sculpture Festival has grown to include satellite activations around the Gold Coast. The Currumbin precinct will also come alive with artist talks, live music, Kid’s classes, workshops and a Fringe festival, to boot. SWELL remains Queensland’s premiere outdoor sculpture festival and a flagship, not-to-be-missed annual event. And did we mention it’s free and family-friendly?
